Poised inside an early-20th-century building, La Posada del Parque is a short taxi or bus ride south of the city centre. It's worth going the extra distance to find this peaceful place, right next to the expansive Parque Hernán Velarde, a world away from the hurly-burly congestion of central Lima. If you're headed to Miraflores, you can easily catch one of dozens of colectivo taxis along Avenida Arequipa, too, making this guesthouse handily placed. All of the spic-and-span, yet homespun rooms have individualistic furniture, cable TV, above-average mattresses and stylish, private bathrooms with 24-hour hot water. A good night's sleep is practically guaranteed. Internet access is free, while a basic continental breakfast costs just a few dollars. Airport transfers can be arranged.
